I agree that ethics are ethics. Also feel that when in battle the means justifies the ends.

Brutal battle changes one and leads to brutal outcomes. The idea of being centered comes to mind.

It requires intelligence as well as strength to commit to success when you won’t use all the available tools that you realize you could, only using those that you should and still prevailing.

It is that combination of characteristics that makes heros.

The real question is how to interpret the line about standing idly by when blood is being spilt. Bush defends a policy of preemptive action by broadly interpreting this (yes, i know Geo is not Jewish) and obviously, blood will be spilt by narrowly interpreting it.

There is no black and white line here…and no easy answer…each man and woman, jewish or otherwise, must decide how much of “the dark side” of the force can be tapped without being drawn too far in…

Al Gore did this in 2000 - he did not use all of the weapons at his command and we got George Bush. Democrats, liberals that most of us are, seem to have a hard time using all our weapons. Do we somehow think that we are going to get credit for being ethically correct while getting our asses kicked in a street fight? The American people have difficulty grasping the nuances of Obama's tax plan, do you really think they will appreciate (much less reward) him for fighting with one hand tied behind his back. If he really believes that the future of our country is at stake, he should fight like it. We can't let Obama be Swift boated without responding in kind. The American people reward strength: Unleash the dogs of political war and put a Democrat in the White House!!
